šŸ“© teague talk no. 007 | how rest can grow your brand + your bank account

smart insights for creators, founders, and financially curious women.

hey friend šŸ’Œ

it’s officially june gloom here in LA and my brain is in summer strategy mode. this week, i was thinking a lot about the balance between rest and progress in my own life in the face of competing priorities.

for me, it’s the balance in building a strong foundation for the future while maintaining a responsible budget, so you can move forward without the burnout.

so let’s dive in. from money moves to marketing momentum.

happy friday.

šŸ’ø savvie tip of the week

how to spend money and not feel bad about it

your budget shouldn’t feel like a guilt trip. it should feel like a reflection of what matters most to you!

so if spending on skincare, therapy, flight deals, or better lighting makes you feel more like yourself?

let me hold your hand while i tell you that that’s not a waste. that is alignment.

try this: before you swipe, ask yourself: is this swipe going to bring me closer to peace, purpose, or panic?

you’ll know what to do.

this week in teague talk creator strategy

šŸ“±great UGC isn’t just good. it’s also reusable.

here’s what brands want in 2025:

  • formats that can be repurposed 10x

  • storytelling that sounds unsponsored

  • creators who get the difference between views & conversions

i’ve been working with brands to build creator-first systems that actually scale.

want in? reply ā€œsystemā€ and i’ll show you how we structure it.

🧠 what i’m loving rn

trend: ā€œif i had to start from zeroā€¦ā€ is dominating and for good reason. it’s showing up in creator content, finance posts, career insights, etc.

i’m loving how it strips everything back to strategy.

what actually matters? what would i prioritize if i wasn’t trying to impress anyone? very 2025 coded.

if you’re building anything from scratch right now (a brand, a self, career, savings account, etc), this trend is basically a permission slip to start with what you do have. not what you don’t.

tool: my referral system goes live next month (!!) but i’m already prepping the launch.

i’ve been giving a lot of thought to how we can grow this newsletter in a way that feels more community and not like that annoying spam thing in your inbox.

so starting in july, you’ll have the chance to share savvie with your friends and earn rewards for being part of the movement.

this is the easiest way to help support me and this space we’re building, and i’m so excited to reward the people who’ve been supporting our journey to empower women through financial literacy. stay tuned šŸ‘€

spoiler: there will be super savvie stickers and a super savvie hoodie.

quote: ā€œrest is a strategy.ā€

rest can weirdly feel like resistance. or like it’s something we have to earn instead of something to integrate into our daily rhythms.

but you don’t always need to go harder. sometimes you just need to go smarter. rest allows time for strategy to breathe and actually work.

rest is where your nervous system stops screaming and your long-term thinking kicks back in. the plan still works when you pause.

totally random: i’ve been thinking about when i studied abroad my senior year of college and would budget for flights to neighboring european cities before budgeting for… like, food. because weekend in barcelona? non-negotiable.

was that financially immature? for sure.

was i in my main character era? also yes!

sometimes budgeting isn’t about being perfect. it can just be about knowing what matters to you and making space for that.
