hey friend 💌

so tomorrow's kind of a big one. america turns 250. two and a half centuries… that's a lot of candles!!!!!

i'm not here to get all uncle sammy on you but i've been sitting with the beauty that america, at its core, is an idea 🇺🇸 a beautifully ambitious idea rooted in shared prosperity, but nevertheless… a work in progress. lots still to build + lots to fix.

but i'm still feeling so very grateful heading into this semiquincentennial (lol say that five times fast)!! feeling grateful to live somewhere i could start a business under my own name, open my own bank accounts, live on my own, rewrite my career trajectory, and build something from a couch daydream into a real business. that freedom isn't a given for women everywhere, and that my friends is not lost on me this week 💌

in typical fashion we were heads down this week! we launched a new series breaking down winning ads. so this issue is part celebration, part behind the scenes!

in today's counter-cultural programming:

💸 the most underrated form of freedom
📱 the ad that won by looking like a doodle (our new winning-ads breakdown)
🧠 what i'm loving rn (the ultimate anti-luxury trend)
🪞 updates from HQ

let's go ↓

💸 savvie tip of the week
financial freedom is just... freedom

the most underrated kind of freedom is the boring kind.

not private jet freedom, but the quiet stuff. the ability to say no to a job that's draining you. to leave an unhealthy relationship. to cover a surprise bill without spiraling. to say "no" to something that doesn't align because your money gives you the room to.

that's the kind of stuff your savings really buys. not more stuff: options! and options create power!

so this weekend, while everyone's grilling, do one teeny tiny declaration of independence typa move for future you: move $20 into savings and name the account something that means something to you like freedom fund or peace fund or get out money or whatever.

remember that naming it matters more than the amount! you're not budgeting, you're building yourself leverage.

you don't need a trust fund or a perfect spreadsheet to start. you just need to give your money a job + time to cook 🇺🇸💸

📱the ad that won by looking like a doodle

okay, now the fun part :) this week i kicked off a new series where we break down winning ads together! i source real ads in the wild + reverse engineer from a creative-strategy lens.

first one up: an ad that won by looking like a lil art project 🎨 someone sketches the shape of an object, then the real thing appears and matches the drawing.

it's basically a masterclass in attention design. check it out👇

Instagram post

here's what's actually happening under the hood:

  • the predictive loop: you stop watching the ad and start participating in it!

  • dopamine hits: suddenly a boring video is a fun activity you get lost in!

  • it doesn't look like an ad: the organic vibe slips right past the mental filter we all have that ignores ads.

and none of it needed a studio or a big budget. just someone who gets where attention goes and how to hold it.

that lines up with what we're testing on the grid this week too: leaning into reels (that's where discovery lives now), trial reels as low-risk lead-gen to non-followers, and cleaner reel covers so the profile actually pulls people in when they stalk us.

the teague media pov remains validated by the market: attention design over production budget. you don't need to look expensive. you need to be impossible to scroll past!

(want us to pressure-test your creative? breakdowns are going up on linkedin. come find me there, or reply here.)

Your whole marketing stack, answering in one Slack thread.

Meta in one tab, TikTok in another, Klaviyo and GA4 in two more. Viktor is an AI employee that pulls all of them into a single Slack thread. Ask for blended CAC, yesterday's flow revenue, or the campaign to cut, and get one answer instead of four logins.

one little click on our sponsor keeps teague talk free for everyone. no pressure… but also, pressure 🤍

🧠 what i’m loving rn

trend: the "rich in life" trend! feel-good b-roll captioned "rich in life because…" where the flex is the intangible stuff 👇

@niuniuluken

the wine on the stoop 🥺🤍 #nyc #bestfriends

quote: "remember the ladies." ~ abigail adams, in a 1776 letter to john adams. basically the energy that inspired @withsavvie 249 years early. still relevant, respectfully.

tool: CapCut for snappy edits! shoutout our CD erin for this tip: no frame should be held longer than ~2 sec. stay lean on text overlays + cut changes to keep retention!

totally random: we're testing "day in the life... from the cat's pov" reels soon. yes, billie is now a content creator and this was a real action item that came out of a team brainstorm call this week. no, she has not yet signed a rate card.

🪞 updates from HQ

📱 new on linkedin: our "winning ads" series is live — we break down real ads that converted and why. follow along.

🎬 reels revamp: we're going heavier on reels + trial reels this month. if you see us posting weird lil experiments, just know we’re cookin with gas :))

made it this far? that’s all for this week.

📋 your homework

pick one:

💸 open a savings account (or rename the one you have) to something that means freedom for you
📱 find the best piece of content during your scroll and think: does this look like an ad or like a piece of art? notice how many of the top performers are the latter.
💤 actually log off tomorrow! rest IS freedom. the algorithm will survive your day off lol

thanks for reading 💌

happy 250th, america. i'm grateful for the freedom to build here as an ambitious young woman and am grateful you're here alongside me. there's so much still to grow, and that's kinda the whole point :)

america’s an idea. 250 years later and we still kickin! go celebrate with a hot dog. rest. get back to it on monday, it’s what tommy j would’ve wanted 🇺🇸

xo,
callie 🤍

p.s. what's one thing financial freedom would let you finally say "no" to? reply and tell me! i read every single one.
