hey friend π
happy friday! and if youβre stateside, happy fourth! π
whether youβre OOO today chillinβ on a boat, laying in bed, or somewhere in between, i hope today comes with at least one good snack and zero guilt trips for resting... and hopefully a hot dog, too!
if your brainβs been spinning with βi need to post moreβ or βi should really get my budget togetherβ but your bodyβs like βnoβ€οΈβ β¦ this oneβs for you.
inside this weekβs letter:
another reason to ignore the
trust fund babiesfinance brosmy go-to systems for staying sane managing my clients
the quote that reminded me why being a woman in business hits different
unfortunately for you, there is a palm tree on my slack status today (iykyk), so youβre getting an extra long newsletter on this independence day πso buckle up.
& letβs get into it β
πΈ savvie tip of the week
compounding interest isnβt a scam β itβs just math that favors patience.
if youβve ever seen someone post a graph showing all their financial accounts going up and thought βmust be niceβ β¦girl. welcome to the club.
but hereβs whatβs happening behind the scenes:
compounding interest = your money earns money.
then that money earns money. and so on.
like a lil money snowball π§
slow at first, then suddenly a lot all at once.
the earlier you start, the more time you give it to catch up with trust fund babies grow π«
compounding interest rewards consistency over perfection.
every finance bro loves to say βjust invest $500/month and retire at 35,β but a way less annoying (and more honest) truth:
your $20 investments still count.
$20/month > waiting until everythingβs perfect.
not because youβre rich. not because you maxed out your Roth from the jump. but because you gave your money time to do its thing.
[download the FREE rainy day savings sprint here] to build your first $1k and let compounding interest do the rest. no stress or spreadsheets.
π§ what iβm loving rn
trend: editing is getting weird in the best way ποΈ creators are leaning all the way into stylized, niche, personality-driven editing.
no more copy-paste capcut templates, yβall. itβs about pov, craft, and standing out.
thereβs never been a better time to play around with your creatives!
tool: Descript. iβve been making ai avatars for future ads concepts π todayβs letterβs not sponsored (i wishπ€¨) β but descript is actually kinda a game-changer for the solopreneur who is too busy sending invoices to dig through B-roll. itβll repurpose video content into short-form thatβs actually pretty solid!
i havenβt upgraded to the paid version (itβs giving financial savvieπ) so needless to say i am, indeed, patiently awaiting my free generations to reset as we speak.
quote: βwomen who own their power donβt have to prove it.β
a little nudge to keep showing up.
even when the industry wasnβt built for you.
especially then.
totally random: finally ditched my crappy old regional bank (not tryna get caught in an svb 2.0) and opened a checking account with the same bank that holds a few of my credit cards.
i still use fidelity for savings, investings, and cash management (no atm fees π) β so now everything is streamlined.
my setup now?
cash flow @ big bank & all my savings + investments @ fidelity.
nothing crazy, just consolidating.
feels good to not be piecing it together across six tabs.
this week in teague talk creator strategy
π±letβs talk about systems. because you canβt scale chaos.
hereβs three systems i discovered that iβm loving right now.
π§ 01: Notion - my brainβs second home: i use it to store everything. my weekly content planner, gpt prompts i canβt afford to lose, inspo for client work, and even my βlow-energy idea bankβ for the tired days.
if itβs not in Notion, it doesnβt exist.
π€ 02: Claude Pro - my secret weapon: claude is the best AI tool iβve used for strategic thinking, scripting, rewriting, and even content therapy.
he gets me.
i use him for:
β vibe-coding my sister a google chrome extension (more on that later)
β hook + trend ideas
β long-form research + ghostwriting
10/10 recommend if youβre tired of yelling into the ChatGPT voids and getting the same generic crap youβre seeing recycled all over Twitter.
π¬ 03: Notion Mail - the inbox i actually want to check: iβve been using Notion Mail βsnippetsβ to turn client notes, brand feedback, and creative inspo into drag-and-drop blocks i can organize.
itβs all centralized, syncs with all my Notion pages, and is way easier to plug into my actual workflow.
what do you use to stay organized?
would love to hear how youβve built your systems π©βπ»
π behind the build: savvie edition
iβve been working on the next phase of savvie β and while weβre not launching an app just yet (!!!) we are laying the groundwork.
think: smarter downloads, expanded digital tools, and a more curated educational experience for the girlies who want their money content to feel clear, confident, and low-key fun.
if youβve used a savvie resource before, reply and tell me what you wish existed.
what would help you stay consistent?
whatβs missing in your other money and banking tools?
Q3 is all about building with you in mind. donβt be shy. anything helps π
π mindset shift of the week
if youβve been feeling behind, off-track, or kind of like βwhy isnβt this working yet?β β a gentle reminder: itβs not always supposed to feel fast. itβs supposed to feel real.
real growth isnβt going viral. itβs showing up for your future self when no oneβs watching.
sometimes itβs rest. sometimes itβs a pivot.
sometimes itβs trusting the compounding effect of staying in the room.
youβre not late. youβre just still building. and that counts.
π§° tool stack highlight: the Chrome extension i built for me + my sister (donβt be impressed)
ok so full disclosure: i built a chrome extension (with a little help from my friend Claude) just for me and my sister to have a permanent spot for our inside joke.
no productivity hack. no Notion integration. just a silly lil button with β¨ emojis and sibling humor β¨ that lives in chrome now.
10/10 picking up a new skill (donβt knock vibe-coding til you try it ok!!) and 10/10 recommend making weird tools for the people you love.
i wasnβt planning on making it publicβ¦ but if that sounds like something youβd use, reply βsistersβ and maybe iβll clean it up and share it.
because honestly? the world would be a better place if all of our tools were made with our sisters in mind π€
