šŸ“© teague talk no. 010 | financial peace, creator burnout & building in public

smart insights for creators, founders, and financially curious women.

hey friend šŸ’Œ

happy friday! and if you’re stateside, happy fourth! 🌭

whether you’re OOO today chillin’ on a boat, laying in bed, or somewhere in between, i hope today comes with at least one good snack and zero guilt trips for resting... and hopefully a hot dog, too!

if your brain’s been spinning with ā€œi need to post moreā€ or ā€œi should really get my budget togetherā€ but your body’s like ā€œnoā¤ļøā€ … this one’s for you.

inside this week’s letter:

  • another reason to ignore the trust fund babies finance bros

  • my go-to systems for staying sane managing my clients

  • the quote that reminded me why being a woman in business hits different

unfortunately for you, there is a palm tree on my slack status today (iykyk), so you’re getting an extra long newsletter on this independence day šŸ‰

    so buckle up.

    & let’s get into it ↓

šŸ’ø savvie tip of the week
compounding interest isn’t a scam — it’s just math that favors patience.

if you’ve ever seen someone post a graph showing all their financial accounts going up and thought ā€œmust be niceā€ …girl. welcome to the club.

but here’s what’s happening behind the scenes:
compounding interest = your money earns money.
then that money earns money. and so on.
like a lil money snowball 🐧
slow at first, then suddenly a lot all at once.
the earlier you start, the more time you give it to catch up with trust fund babies grow 🫠

compounding interest rewards consistency over perfection.
every finance bro loves to say ā€œjust invest $500/month and retire at 35,ā€ but a way less annoying (and more honest) truth:
your $20 investments still count.
$20/month > waiting until everything’s perfect.
not because you’re rich. not because you maxed out your Roth from the jump. but because you gave your money time to do its thing.

🧠 what i’m loving rn

trend: editing is getting weird in the best way šŸŽžļø creators are leaning all the way into stylized, niche, personality-driven editing.
no more copy-paste capcut templates, y’all. it’s about pov, craft, and standing out.
there’s never been a better time to play around with your creatives!

tool: Descript. i’ve been making ai avatars for future ads concepts šŸ‘€ today’s letter’s not sponsored (i wish🤨) — but descript is actually kinda a game-changer for the solopreneur who is too busy sending invoices to dig through B-roll. it’ll repurpose video content into short-form that’s actually pretty solid!
i haven’t upgraded to the paid version (it’s giving financial savviešŸ˜‰) so needless to say i am, indeed, patiently awaiting my free generations to reset as we speak.

quote: ā€œwomen who own their power don’t have to prove it.ā€

a little nudge to keep showing up.

even when the industry wasn’t built for you.

especially then.

totally random: finally ditched my crappy old regional bank (not tryna get caught in an svb 2.0) and opened a checking account with the same bank that holds a few of my credit cards.
i still use fidelity for savings, investings, and cash management (no atm fees šŸ™Œ) — so now everything is streamlined.

my setup now?
cash flow @ big bank & all my savings + investments @ fidelity.
nothing crazy, just consolidating.
feels good to not be piecing it together across six tabs.

this week in teague talk creator strategy

šŸ“±let’s talk about systems. because you can’t scale chaos.

here’s three systems i discovered that i’m loving right now.

šŸ§  01: Notion - my brain’s second home: i use it to store everything. my weekly content planner, gpt prompts i can’t afford to lose, inspo for client work, and even my ā€œlow-energy idea bankā€ for the tired days.
if it’s not in Notion, it doesn’t exist.

šŸ¤– 02: Claude Pro - my secret weapon: claude is the best AI tool i’ve used for strategic thinking, scripting, rewriting, and even content therapy.

he gets me.

i use him for:
→ vibe-coding my sister a google chrome extension (more on that later)
→ hook + trend ideas
→ long-form research + ghostwriting

10/10 recommend if you’re tired of yelling into the ChatGPT voids and getting the same generic crap you’re seeing recycled all over Twitter.

šŸ“¬ 03: Notion Mail - the inbox i actually want to check: i’ve been using Notion Mail ā€œsnippetsā€ to turn client notes, brand feedback, and creative inspo into drag-and-drop blocks i can organize.
it’s all centralized, syncs with all my Notion pages, and is way easier to plug into my actual workflow.

what do you use to stay organized?

would love to hear how you’ve built your systems šŸ‘©ā€šŸ’»

šŸ” behind the build: savvie edition

i’ve been working on the next phase of savvie — and while we’re not launching an app just yet (!!!) we are laying the groundwork.
think: smarter downloads, expanded digital tools, and a more curated educational experience for the girlies who want their money content to feel clear, confident, and low-key fun.

if you’ve used a savvie resource before, reply and tell me what you wish existed.

what would help you stay consistent?

what’s missing in your other money and banking tools?

Q3 is all about building with you in mind. don’t be shy. anything helps šŸ’š

šŸ’ mindset shift of the week

if you’ve been feeling behind, off-track, or kind of like ā€œwhy isn’t this working yet?ā€ — a gentle reminder: it’s not always supposed to feel fast. it’s supposed to feel real.

real growth isn’t going viral. it’s showing up for your future self when no one’s watching.

sometimes it’s rest. sometimes it’s a pivot.

sometimes it’s trusting the compounding effect of staying in the room.

you’re not late. you’re just still building. and that counts.

🧰 tool stack highlight: the Chrome extension i built for me + my sister (don’t be impressed)

ok so full disclosure: i built a chrome extension (with a little help from my friend Claude) just for me and my sister to have a permanent spot for our inside joke.

no productivity hack. no Notion integration. just a silly lil button with ✨ emojis and sibling humor ✨ that lives in chrome now.

10/10 picking up a new skill (don’t knock vibe-coding til you try it ok!!) and 10/10 recommend making weird tools for the people you love.

i wasn’t planning on making it public… but if that sounds like something you’d use, reply ā€œsistersā€ and maybe i’ll clean it up and share it.

because honestly? the world would be a better place if all of our tools were made with our sisters in mind šŸ¤
